About School Holiday Dates
Hello,
Welcome to School Holiday Dates, a user friendly website that lists school holiday dates and provides you with information on things to do with the children throughout the school holidays.
We started the website in 2010 just after a skiing holiday in Switzerland with friends. My friend and I were unsure as to the exact date when our children went back to school and weren't sure whether the first day of term was an inset day or not. Someone told me there was an "inset day" when in fact, there wasn't one. I have also dressed my three children for school when actually they could have stayed in bed because there was an "inset day".
Having 3 children, all of whom are now at different schools, and each school will possibly have different inset days, I wanted to put together a site where one can easily see inset days and where one can easily see several schools holiday dates.
After deciding to publish the dates and inset days of every school in the country, I then decided it would be a great idea to add school events such as pantos, concerts, summer fairs and charity events. This naturally lead on to listing all of the local attractions in every county and all of the summer camps and courses available for children in each county throughout the UK. The website has grown so much since our launch in 2010 that we are now able to list hundreds of children's activities that are taking place in the summer, easter, christmas and half term holidays. We try to upload as many vouchers and discounts as we can lay our hands on to help you throughout the holidays.
We will also provide as much local information as possible of things to do and children's activities and welcome feedback and details on local family events that you feel would be suited to School Holiday Dates.
There are many features still to be added and we welcome feedback and ideas or information that you would like to see.
